5/16th-5/31st: Reacquainting with 'Painter' Methods
I took some time the last few weeks to try and relearn some of the painting methods I had to do in school. This came around from feeling I had dynamic enough poses, but not being able to ‘move’ beyond the boundary of the line limits how my piece turns out.
I don’t feel that I had a lot of success with my efforts in the beginning, but you can see a bit of progression from ‘needing’ the lines to gradually painting over them and creating something new. My final piece for the month, as you can see, was a lot easier because I deviated from a color palette and first created everything in black and white before overlaying color (see additional thumbnails).
However, the next few weeks I think I’ll focus more on landscape imagery and re-learning light and color play.
